Student Project Tells America’s Story

GreeceSD-Americas StoryStudents in Greece Central School District’s Adult Literacy program have been illustrating events in American history from its discovery to the 21st century.

Adult Basic Education, HSE Preparation, and ESL classes participated in this cross-cultural and Common Core-aligned project that began in July. Students completed research and designs for the panels that portray specific years. Columbus and the Age of Exploration, the American Revolution and Bill of Rights, and the Civil War are just a few examples. The photograph on the right shows a panel painted by one of the students.

Once all the panels have been completed, they will be exhibited in Greece’s learning center.
