National Adult Education and Family Literacy Week is celebrated September 26th – October 1, 2016.AEFLW logo2016

In order to leverage resources to support access to basic education programs for the 36 million U.S. adults with low literacy skills, National Adult Education and Family Literacy Week raises public awareness about the need and value of adult education and family literacy.

For resources to showcase adult education and family literacy nationwide with policymakers, the media, and the community, go to http://national-coalition-literacy.org/adult-education-and-family-literacy-week/

The LINCS Learner Center is a great tool to connect adult learners to resources to improve their literacy levels, math and English competency, and job skills, among others. It even helps adult learners locate educational programs in their communities. Go to https://learner.lincs.ed.gov/

Proliteracy's free toolkit includes information about AEFL Week and International Literacy Day, adult education facts, suggested activities, sample letters, social media templates, and more at: https://www.proliteracy.org/Get-Involved/Become-a-Member/Member-Central/Adult-Education-and-Family-Literacy-Week-Toolkit#sthash.SFqo8lMW.dpuf
