Results of Adult Skills Survey Released

The Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) released the first OECD Skills Outlook 2013 on October 8, 2013. The initial results of the Survey of Adult Skills (PIAAC) evaluate the skills of adults aged 16–65 in 24 countries. It provides insights into the availability of some of the key information-processing skills of literacy, numeracy and problem solving in technology-rich environments and how they are used at work and at home. The full report and interactive tools are available at http://skills.oecd.org/skillsoutlook.html.

Although release of the US Country Report has been postponed due to the US government shutdown, how the United States compared can be found at http://skills.oecd.org/informationbycountry/unitedstates.html
